SYCAMORE BAGS

ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS

Artwork should ideally be submitted in EPS format, if this is not an option then a high res PDF may be accepted.

Fonts:
  • All fonts should be converted to curves prior to saving as an EPS or as a PDF.
  • When you save the Artwork as a PDF there is an option to embed all fonts – please do not rely on this option as this causes a problem when opening the file in a programme used for proofing and plate making. This can be avoided by converting the fonts to curves/outlines prior to saving as a PDF.
Graphics:
  • If your artwork does contain an image or scan - this should be 300 DPI at print size and it should be in CMYK.
Colours:
  • Artwork should be sent through to us in either CMYK format or PANTONES.
  • Pantones used should be stated clearly in the artwork or in the accompanying email sent with the artwork.
  • If Tints have been used (either CMYK tints or PANTONE tints) – please state this in order for accurate printing to be achieved
  • If Metallic colours have been used, please check that:
    a. We can print metallic inks on the desired product
    b. Metallic or special inks are in stock for rush orders
Redrawing Artwork:
  • If you or your client do not have the artwork in the correct format – i.e. all you have access to is a JPEG or GIF file or a scan, in some cases this can be redrawn. There is a charge of £45.00 per hour and part there of– this is dependant on the detail of the image that needs to be redrawn.
Chargeable Changes:
  • If we have started proofing an order and the artwork changes once proofing has begun, there is a £15.00 Charge that will be incurred.
  • If a proof has been approved and there is a change made once production has started, cancellation costs will be incurred.
Graphics:
  • If your artwork does contain an image or scan - this should be 300 DPI at print size and it should be in CMYK.

Please always submit a PDF or JPEG with the Artwork so that we can check against this to make sure that nothing has corrupted prior to Proofing, HOWEVER THE ONUS IS ON YOU TO CHECK AND APPROVE THE PROOFS PRIOR TO PRODUCTION.

Late submission of artwork and approval of proofs will result in a delay in the initially discussed delivery date as a production space can only be booked once artwork has been signed off. Lead times really only begin once approval is received.

We will do everything we can to help you with reaching target dates and getting the best possible result, the above are merely guidelines to try and help the process run smoothly.
